Thoughts Thoughts Thoughts...

Thoughts Thoughts Thoughts…

Sometimes, my sleep breaks in the middle of the night and my mind is flooded with a certain kind of thoughts. No matter how much I try to deflect those thoughts or distract myself, it doesn't happen.

Do I choose the thoughts that come to my mind?

No, I don’t.

I have no idea why they do. I have heard myself telling people often that “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” Yes, this is the thought by Aristotle right in the description of the blog. I tell my friends that the purpose of my life is ‘happy faces.’ I do things because they make me happy and avoid things if they cause me pain.

However, I am not always successful. Happiness, Charity, anything else that you want to spread out to the world does not begin at home, it begins with us.

I do not choose my thoughts. I do not choose who I like. I just happen to think certain thoughts as they pop into my mind from somewhere and they don’t yield till they have achieved their objective. There must be an objective after all; the world cannot be a random place existing totally in an illogical nonsensical manner.

Actually, I am not sure if it isn't. Not yet, I am still trying to figure this.

Does this happen to you? Do you sometimes get up in the middle of the night and start thinking something and you do not quite consciously realize why are you thinking so?

Perhaps you have never paid attention to the thoughts that appear in your mind and how and why they do. You will most likely not get an answer to the question but still, the question must be asked.

Have a nice weekend!

Fear!!!

Fear drives the human race besides the 1% exceptions. Fear of losing your job. Fear of losing your love. Fear of being alone. Fear of having no money. Fear of not being accepted. Fear of failing on the path to his dreams.

Till the day man learns to have the courage to be driven by love and only that, he would continue to be bound, by someone and deserving of it.

damn me!

May be you are smarter

"may be you are smarter and were born to be so. may be you understand yourself. i don't. i don't understand why the fuck men do what they do, many times that includes myself and why don't they act otherwise. why some are intelligent and some are dumb. some are rich and some are poor. some die early and some live long. some 'happen' to think of ideas to build companies and some cannot muster the courage to get away from the shackles of their family and society. why an idea that seems impractical to one excites the other. we all seem to be actors to me, acting in an illusion of free will as if we are somehow creating our thoughts and reality.

"may be you have been smarter. i see no one deserving any credit and i see nobody deserving any blame. may be i was born to be this way"

thoughts post the end of the 'K' Chapter

dil kuch udas sa hai
kuch dino se
shayad koi apna peeche chhut gaya hai

kuch kuch mana liya hai humne dil ko
... kehke, ke apna hoga to laut ayega.

jo laut te nahi hain
vo apne nahi hote....

to asani se tut jate hain...
dhoke hote hain
sapne nahhi hote

------------------------------------------

so basically when you don't understand why seemingly educated people go against their own happiness, mostly the reason is this- they don't have the balls to fight for their happiness, so they just capitulate.

---------------------------------------------

Incinerate the dead yesterdays
Plan for the unborn tomorrows in the womb of life
Today is born
It's here with you
Soon, it will be gone-forever
give it the best you got
make today your best day ever!

Amar on Money

2 metaphors to clarify my perspective on money:

1. Money is like health, the more you have, the more you can do with it. but it's not the reason for existence.

2. Money is like sex. If you are having it, you can focus your attention on other things. If you aren't, there is nothing else you think about.

and then.....I said no

and then I said 'no.'  A 'yes' could have led to a different direction, who knows where! Now, what happens will be a consequence of this choice.

I don't know what will be the consequence of saying no to NJ today. I was pursuing this for about a year and a half and now it happened at a time when I have just taken up a role at Nielsen!!! Of course it would have meant more money and travel for now but I was not sure about the work and the industry!

Again, I was led to this decision. This choice was determined. The circumstances in which this decision has been made were determined.

every damn fucking thing is determined.

“The human mind,” Lincoln wrote, “is impelled to action, or held in rest by some power, over which the mind itself has no control.”

I do not believe in Free Will

I choose hereby my opinion and conviction on this subject from the belief of two of the greatest men human civilization has had.

Let us not forget that knowledge and skills alone cannot lead humanity to a happy and dignified life.... I claim credit for nothing.

Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect as well as the star. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper." - Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein

I do not believe in free will. Schopenhauer's words: 'Man can do what he wants, but he cannot will what he wants,' accompany me in all situations throughout my life and reconcile me with the actions of others, even if they are rather painful to me. This awareness (not perception) of the lack of free will keeps me from taking myself and my fellow men too seriously as acting and deciding individuals, and from losing my temper.

"I do not at all believe in human freedom in the philosophical sense…. Schopenhauer’s saying, ‘A man can do what he wants, but not will what he wants,’ has been a very real inspiration to me since my youth; it has been a continual consolation in the face of life’s hardships, my own and others’, and an unfailing wellspring of tolerance. This realization mercifully mitigates the easily paralyzing sense of responsibility and prevents us from taking ourselves and other people too seriously; it is conducive to a view of life which, in part, gives humor its due."

— Albert Einstein (The World As I See It)

Einstein wrote, "In God's eyes, man cannot be responsible for his actions any more than an inanimate object is responsible for the motion it undergoes."

Abraham Lincoln

The Almighty has his own purposes. “The human mind,” Lincoln wrote, “is impelled to action, or held in rest by some power, over which the mind itself has no control.” Our choices thus are predetermined though we may appear to be making them consciously. (the illusion of free will)

The illusion of free will is essential to rational decision making. Accepted. But it does not change the fact that free will is an illusion.

By W Mitchell

FATE STRUCK TWICE

It's like many people live their lives looking at the rear view mirror-It could have been...if only I would have....how nice it would have been.....if only i had done that!

There is a reason why the car manufacturers make the windshield much bigger than the rear view mirror.

Furthermore, all of this did not happen at once. I did not have the ‘luxury’ of one great, grand accident to get over. First, I was burned nearly to a crisp (Motorcycle Accident: 65% of his body burned). There is probably not one person in a billion who has endured more physical pain than I have. Then, four years later, in an entirely separate accident (Airplane crash), I was paralysed from the waist down. The average person might call me the unluckiest man alive.

"Life is what you make it,” some people say. But most of us don’t really believe that. “If only,” you might say, “If only I weren’t so old. So broke. So saddled by my mortgage. If only I had less pressure in my job. A family that understands me. There’s nothing I can do, Mitchell.” To which I simply say, “Look at me.” My face looks like a badly made leather quilt. It has literally made children chant, “Monster, monster,” as I pass by. I have no fingers. I cannot walk.

What I want, is to be a symbol for you. With my scarred face, my fingerless paws, my wheelchair, and real genuine happiness in my heart, I want to be your mental image of the power of the human mind to transcend circumstances. As I say in my speeches and my book, “It’s not what happens to you, it’s what you do about it.”

But, what I hope to do in these articles and in my speeches is toteach you not to think like the average person. To show you that nothing, absolutely nothing is absolute. Your life is entirely what you decide it is. The universe starts in your head and spreadsout into the world. Change what happens in your head and the universe changes.

When you feel you have met an insurmountable obstacle, I want you to think of me. And, then say to yourself, “If he can be successful, I can, too.” What kind of success are we talking about? I can rattle off my resume if you like: millionaire, Mayor, member of many boards of directors, environmental leader, media personality, political commentator, commercial pilot, international public speaker, even river-rafter and skydiver.

We can only we a failure by our own consent. went into business. failed. went again. failed again. went again. failed again.

My wife said, why don't you just get a job? JOB- just over broke.

We need empire builders. Clear away the debris of the past. Create big goals and trade your life to achieve those goals

We need you to own the corporation than look for employment.

The problem is you don't want to make a decision.

The man who wanted to live

He was standing in the criminal's box in the packed courtroom. All eyes were on him. He had been charged by the government of the state for defying the rules of the society and had become an outcast.

He was defending his case himself. His defence lawyer had backed out. The prosecution cried, 'What gives you the right to think that you are right? What is it that you fight for?'

"I fight for my own happiness. What makes you think that you are right? I don't accept your rules. I don't accept anybody's rules until they agree with my sense of reason and logic.  By what standards do you judge your life and by what standards do you judge anybody else's life?" he hollered.

There were people who looked aghast at the courage and the fearlessness of the man in the box. They were taught that he was to be hated and that he deserved the hatred. Nobody had any right to go against the tide. Nobody had any right to believe in what he thought been right. It was a collective society and every belief was meant to be a collective belief.

The room was silent as he continued.

"In fact, I don't understand what do you live for? By the way, you aren't even living. You are just surviving. You go from one day to another having passed through it. You stay in painful relationships fearing what society would think of you otherwise. You do work you have no interest in because you want to survive.

You know what? I don't what to survive. I either want to live or to die. I don't want to survive. Not anymore. Animals are born to survive. They get up in the morning thinking of nothing but getting enough food to survive. They exist to survive. I am not an animal. I am a human. I exist to live."

The public prosecutor who had been flabbergasted by this outburst of an accused tried to regain his calm and said,

"That's all too easy to say. You kid yourself. You foolish idealist! You dumb utopian! We also need to survive. We need to compromise with life and make sacrifices for others. We have to do things even if we don't like them. That is not easy either."

"By whose standards? When you do things you don't like, you kill yourself everyday and kill any chance to really become who you are or who you ought to be. You fake everything to sustain your fake sense of existence. You justify the things that cause pain and eulogize them rather than criticize them. You lack the courage to speak up or it will jeopardize your survival."

"So you mean you are not scared?" refuted the prosecutor.

"No. I am not. Not now. Not anymore. I am willing to put my life at stake to stand by my convictions."

Nobody said anything. It did not matter anymore. It did not matter what the judge announced as the punishment for the criminal or if he was exonerated. There stood a man who was willing to die for his convictions. There stood a man who was willing to live or die.

There stood a fearless man who wanted to live for his happiness and was willing to put his life at stake for it.

The man was acquitted. He was set free to live or die. It did not matter if he lived or died.

What did matter was what he was fighting for. He fought for his own happiness.

Rich Dad Speak

While risk can be scary, to me it is the essence of freedom. The only way to limit risk is to limit freedom. And, unfortunately, all too often people are willing to give away freedom in exchange for safety, even if that safety equals a poor way of living.

What I really want is....

Freedom

I want to be free

One of the greatest goals of a man's life should be freedom.

Freedom to act on his own free will and do what he deeply feels is right. A few, only a few men of courage find it. They walk down roads no body wants to walk on because there are risks involved. They risk their life for their freedom. They either get it or die. And the rest of the world appears to live superficially. A fake existence.

Man is a coward!

Man is a coward. Exceptions apply. I am not an exception and to be one is the greatest goal of my life.

There are 3 words in my dictionary which are the opposites of coward. They are brave, courageous and fearless.

A free man acts on his own will. A coward acts on somebody Else's will, whatever be the reason or fear.

Who am I?

Who Am I?
I am
A writer-I write to change the world for good. I write what I feel strongly about. I can sell anything I am convinced about through my writing.
A poet-I love the rhythm of words. And I love creating inspiring poetry.
A man who loves words and the English language
A man who loves reading books
A man driven by passion for his work
A passionate and inspiring Public Speaker
A stand up comic- I love to make people laugh. Whatever it takes
A philosopher- Philosophy is the study of general and fundamental problems, such as those connected with existence, knowledge, values, reason, mind, and language. It is distinguished from other ways of addressing such problems by its critical, generally systematic approach and its reliance on rational argument. The word "philosophy" comes from the Greek φιλοσοφία (philosophia), which literally means "love of wisdom".
A man who loves psychology- Psychologists explore such concepts as perception, cognition, attention, emotion, phenomenology, motivation, brain functioning, personality, behavior, and interpersonal relationships.
A Teacher-I like conducting leadership workshops and learning from great men and women. You can't teach a man anything, you can only help him find it within himself.
A health freak, A runner- I love being in a state of great health and would love to help people attain it as well.

An Incurable optimist- it’s tough to beat me forever. Sometimes I do fall but I rise often than I fall.
A traveler- whenever I get a chance and have some cash and time.

Now create a life just being who I am. Create a business system around all of this. And as you find more things you love, just keep expanding the list.

Born to write
Born to be a stand up comic
Born to explain human behavior (philosophy, psychology)
Born to create happiness
Born to be a motivational and inspirational speaker
Born to teach
Born to wander
Born to infect the love of English language and great literature
Born to lead

The kind of life I want to live!

"Lead a life so simple and powerful that there is nothing for anybody to take away from you. You can take away a position, a chair, a car, a perk.

Never honor."

wow! wow! wow!

Amar on happiness!

"Do what you love. Happiness is everything-the meaning, purpose and objective of every single day of life. Everything."

"The source of happiness to me seems to be love and courage. Guts to go after what we think is right against popular opinion. Popular opinion is the opinion of unpopular cowards. What's right is what makes us happy. The only parameter of any decision is if it makes us happy. If it does not, change course.

Happiness is everything. If you are not happy today, you have got to be doing something else. Age is immaterial. Most people spend their lives as walking carcasses anyways. If the pursuit of happiness takes every minute of it of your life, let it. It's all there is to life.

I am born to be a free bird!

To sing, To fly
To go as much as I care
To go as much as high

To do what I love
And do it at my pace
I just don't want to compete with them
It has been and it's just my own race

I don't want to answer anyone
My accountability is to the mirror
If I can look to it straight in the eye
There is nothing out there that can make me shy

My convictions are worth a fight
If it does not make us happy
How does anything become right?!

So often I don't seem to fit in
Never ever have followed the herd
Something inside me keeps reminding me

that I am born
I am born to be a free bird

I am waiting for the day I will break free
Either I will live or I will die

But I see only this one life
And I don't want to be caged

I am born to be a free bird and I want to fly
