thoughts of the day!

from the book-know your limits and then ignore them!

Start where you are!

Start with what you have, not with what you don't have. Opportunity is always where you are, never where you were. To get anywhere you must launch out for somewhere or you will get nowhere.

Hamilton Mabie said,"The question for each man to settle is not what he would do if he had the means, time, influence and education advantages, but what he will do with the things he has." Each of us has an ability to begin to create what we need from something that is already here.

Teddy Roosevelt said,"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are."

The truth is, you can't know what you can do until you try. The most important catalyst to reaching your dream is starting where you are. Edward Hail said,"I can't do everything but I still can do something; and because I can't do everything, I will not refuse to do the something I can do."

No longer forward nor behind
I look in hope or fear;
But, grateful, take the good I find,
The best of now and here.

everyone's on a journey, the journey of their lives!

a thought came to my mind this morning before I woke up and I thought it was beautiful.

This is what it is. Everyone we meet is on a journey of his/her life, including ourselves. During this journey, we go to a lot of places and have a lot of short and long spells of time chapters.

We tend to meet certain people during the journey of our lives. During this time, they are also on the journeys of their lives and when we meet them, our paths cross. We stay together within them for a while.

For example, we were born during the journey of life our our parents. They decided to live the journey together and make it one journey. And that's why a man-woman relationship or the husband wife relationship is so important. Two human beings on the trip of their lives one day decide that now the journey will be together.

We stay with our parents during the journey of our lives. We stay with our teachers during the journey of our lives. With siblings and friends. All of them meet with us for long time chapters or short time chapters. Then either they move on their journey or we do.

I didthe MBA with so may wonderful people. They were from different places and different backgrounds. We did not know each other before the MBA time chapter. The beauty of that time chapter would depend on how we make the best use of the time that we got with whoever we meet on our journey.

In Dubai one of my roommates was Satpal, now he has moved on and so have I. Now it is Nilang, within a few months he and I will move on our journeys.

The idea is to make the best of every time and every moment available because you never know when they leave you. And sometimes, very few of those times, extend the time chap till the end of life and decide to walk the same journey. Only one person in this world will be such who will walk the journey of my life with me. That is, of all those I meet and have any sort of power of decision over. And that does not include parents and siblings.

Everyone else will come and leave. I will like some of those people but I know they will leave. And i know I will leave. Wow, I did not know this thought flow will lead me to realising the importance of that one person. Yes, marriage is the most importane decision in life for it's about sharing the journeys and making them one. It's about the one.

Having said that, we must make every attempt to make every moment beautiful because at the end of the time chap, when people leave, you never know if they will ever meet you again.

life is just too fickle to be trusted. Isn't it? The readers of this post have all the right to think I have lost it!

while on the journey, love everyone who walks your way, for once they leave, they may never come again!!never again...and if they are too precious, do not let them leave.....but if they must leave, they will leave....wata life

happy 2009!

The New Year has walked in, smiling at you….You opened the door with hopes and expectations dint you?
Like almost every year, it will have 365 days, starting now
Would you treat those days well? Smiling, caring, contributing…You need to ask how?
We are blessed for we are alive; unfortunately many don’t realize that nothing quite matters as much-colour, religion or country as much as being a human
We could be the part of thousands of those who leave every day
For some reason, we have been chosen for now, chosen to stay
We need to prove that we deserve our stay
We must strive for more; we must pay
If you make a resolve, stand by it
Mean every word you say
Love everyone who comes your way
Everyone’s on a journey, we are all tender, say whatever they may!
New Year is the time to start afresh
After all, all we need is an excuse 
Enjoy every minute; be useful to yourself and others while having fun
Promise yourself never to bow to a life of mediocrity
Promise yourself, that you will be the one!
I wish you a pulsating year
Full of reverberating success, enduring love and vivacious health
I wish you never bow down to failure, for victory is just a few steps
Very close is the finishing line
Rejoice, Resolve, Renew today
I wish you my pal

uff communication!

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant ;)

excellent isn't?

Prediction!

Prediction is very difficult, especially about the future ;)

thought of the day!

tell the world what you want to do, but first show it!

thought of the day!

it's okay to be content with what you have, but never with what you are!

this moment!

from someone who thinks like me ;)

This Moment...

I May never see tomorrow there's no written guarantee, and things that happened yesterday belong to history. I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past. I have just the present moment, I must treat it as my last. I must use this moment wisely, for it soon will pass away, and be lost to me forever as part as yesterday.
I must exercise compassion, help the fallen to their feet, be a friend unto the friendless, make an empty life complete. The unkind things I do today, may never be undone, and the friendships that I fail to win, may nevermore be won. I may not have another chance, on bended knees to pray and thank God with humble heart, for giving me this day.

dun quit!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won, had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

easier to die, hard to live!

When you're lost in the Wild, and you're scared as a child,
And Death looks you bang in the eye,
And you're sore as a boil, it's according to Hoyle
To cock your revolver and . . . die.
But the Code of a Man says: "Fight all you can,"
And self-dissolution is barred.
In hunger and woe, oh, it's easy to blow . . .
It's the hell-served-for-breakfast that's hard.

"You're sick of the game!" Well, now that's a shame.
You're young and you're brave and you're bright.
"You've had a raw deal!" I know — but don't squeal,
Buck up, do your damnedest, and fight.
It's the plugging away that will win you the day,
So don't be a piker, old pard!
Just draw on your grit, it's so easy to quit.
It's the keeping-your chin-up that's hard.

It's easy to cry that you're beaten — and die;
It's easy to crawfish and crawl;
But to fight and to fight when hope's out of sight —
Why that's the best game of them all!
And though you come out of each gruelling bout,
All broken and battered and scarred,
Just have one more try — it's dead easy to die,
It's the keeping-on-living that's hard.

anyway!

another one of my favorite poems, not authored by me, by someone, read anyways ;0

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered;

Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;

Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;

Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;

Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;

Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;

Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;

Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;

Give the world the best you've got anyway.
